The weather was finally better here in Bloomington, so I've been biking to work, swimming, and enjoying summer treats such as watermelon or strawberries. Some days I've even taken a nice stroll on the bike trail across the street from my office during my lunch break; after which I feel relaxed and ready to go for the rest of my day . When the sun's out there's nothing better than getting off the couch and going outside, whether you're working out, taking a walk, or just playing a pickup game at the park. Spend as much time as you can outdoors this summer, because before you know it, school will be starting up again.
The long weekend coming up is a perfect time to get some fresh air and exercise. Having a backyard cookout? Set up the volleyball net and get your party moving. Watching fireworks? Head to the biggest hill in town for a great view, and walk up and down it before the show. And why not ditch the car and bike to your nearby destinations?
One thing I'll be doing is attending my hometown's Frontier Days Festival, where I definitely want to catch the Jesse White Tumblers performance. Those are some incredibly athletic youngsters. I'll also be running the Stampede 5k(3.1 miles) on Sunday with my father, so I guess I'll be testing my 3 mile time sooner than I thought!
Happy 4th of July,
Jeff
