So who says Michael Phelps is the only Olympian who's pigging out all the time? Watch this video to see what Jordan Burroughs eats at the Olympic Training Center:

No one can top Phelps's 12,000 calories a day while staying as lean as he does, but many wrestlers at the Olympic Trainer Center consume upwards of 7000-8000 calories each day during their grueling regimens.
Notice what he says when he goes for pizza: "If I can't eat, he can't eat. If I can't eat, no one eats!" It reminds me of an article from Runner's World magazine that I read several years ago which said: "If a physically fit long distance runner can't have dessert once in a while, who can?" Good question. The same applies to a physically fit wrestler. Sounds kinda similar to something from my September 28th post, 'eh? "Coach Tommy Evans counseled Dan [Gable], 'A man in condition can eat anything.'
Dan did - whatever was served; his fill, desserts included."
In no way am I telling you to go out and eat pizza and milkshakes on a regular basis, unless of course you're working out three or four times a day at the same level as Burroughs. If that's the case, then you can and should have very high levels of carbs and sodium.
If I can't eat, no one eats!,
Jeff
