Because it is the "off-season," many retailers are clearing out shoes to make room for the upcoming season's new styles. This past weekend I stopped at Dick's Sporting Goods and they had a ton of wrestling shoes on a clearance table. There were several varieties, including Cael V3.0's for $39.98! To put things in perspective, those shoes ran somewhere in the range of $80-$100 when they first came out. I was almost tempted to buy an extra pair of shoes for myself. My suggestion: head over to Dick's ASAP, because for some reason they seem to have more in stock now than they do in-season.
Next, learn how to tie your shoes. Yes, you learned how to do this at a young age, but chances are you're doing it all wrong. Two summers ago I learned an interesting way to tie your wrestling shoes which is meant to increase speed and stability and to decrease ankle injuries. Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKS6H-Gw0eg Follow along and tie your shoes as you watch it, and then make it a habit to do it that way every time. Pretty soon you'll naturally tie them that way.
This technique can also be used for your running shoes or whatever shoes you use for a workout!
Tie your shoes the right way,
Jeff
